Trooper Is Adopted!

Trooper Adopted GSPWe are happy to announce that Trooper has been adopted! Trooper is now in a forever home with the room to roam he was used to, and is lucky enough to have owners that are home with him most of the time. He was given up to the rescue when his owner was forced to leave the many acres Trooper loved to running. He didn't do well in his new, smaller home and exhibited signs of separation anxiety. Lucky for Trooper, former adopters Jerry and Carolyn were looking for a new dog to share their home and farm. They are also experienced GSP owners and the exercise and training they knew Trooper would need was not a problem for them. Not only did we think Jerry and Carolyn were the perfect people for Trooper, we were also pretty sure that he would be just right for them as well, and a few updates from them have confirmed this, "We want to thank you Cindy for again picking just the right guy for us.  What a love bug! He slept just about all the way home. Even with all the sleep, he slept through the night with nary a complaint.  He slept in his bed on the floor next to my side of the bed & only awakened a couple of times to check that we were indeed still with him. He sure does love his people, even new ones." and a little while after being in his new home, they tell us, "Trooper is thriving.  Our vet was really pleased with his labs we had done & said "they look beautiful". We had to board him 2 nights at our fabulous kennel & they said he is very social & plays really well with the other dogs. We are still working on his crate training. We know that will take some time but the trainer who came to our house was very impressed with his progress."California GSP Rescue greatly appreciates adopters, like Jerry and Carolyn, who put the time and effort into making sure their new family members have the opportunity to thrive!
