Riley Is Adopted!

Patty and Richard are repeat adopters. They reached out to us after their beloved GSP Reese passed away. They wanted another girl under 5 years old, but most importantly, they needed a dog that would do well with their cat. We had two young girls they were interested in, but they did not do well with cats. We didn’t have a dog at that time that would be a good fit, so Patty would come out to the rescue on Saturday’s and help walk dogs and assist with the featured dogs for our Facebook Live’s. She and Richard were patient, and knew we would let them know when we had a dog for them.

Riley came into the rescue at 3 years old after being surrendered when his owner was no longer able to give him the attention and exercise he needed. We evaluated him with other dogs, and he did great! His previous owner also told us he lived with a cat and they got along well. Bingo! Riley was the one, and certainly worth the wait!

“It has been 6 months since we adopted three year old Riley. He is a fetch playing, water loving cuddle bug.

My husband and I are retired and lost our 9 year old female GSP a year ago. We reached out to Teri with CA GSP to help us adopt another one. It took a while to find one that could match our needs and Teri worked on it diligently. Firstly we have a cat, so finding a GSP that would be compatible did limit our choices. Although I do walk nearly everyday the level of exercise may not meet the requirements of many GSP ‘s. So we manage to give him his exercise by playing fetch, taking walks and swimming whenever it is warm enough. He also loves car rides. He has brought a lot of joy and delight to our lives.
