Nemo is a 3 year-old male GSP Mix that was relinquished to the rescue. Nemo has lived with several different foster dogs over the past few months and has done exceptionally well when properly introduced. In his prior home, Nemo lived with two other dogs but had an incident with a visiting dog. There aren't many details, but we know the dogs were left alone on the Fourth of July a short time after being introduced. We suspect the fireworks generated some anxiety in the dogs, and something triggered an altercation. You can read more about the incident here (https://www.gsp-rescue.org/gspr-news/nemo-is-safe).

What We Do Know
Nemo is house trained and crate trained, and he knows how to use a dog door. He is great on a leash too! Nemo loves attention and being with his people. He may have a little separation anxiety, but it's very manageable with some exercise. We also suspect Nemo enjoys the companionship of the foster dogs in the same house. He has respected when other dogs do not want to play but sometimes can be overeager to engage. If managed, Nemo has respected the other dogs that do not want to play and hasn't had any issues. He loves the well-socialized dogs that will play with him and can play for hours.

Nemo is smart. He recently competed in the Splish Splash Super Dog Trainer Competition and made an impressive effort. Although Nemo didn't win, his desire to please was evident. The trick he learned was quite remarkable. He has also been quick to pick up the feeding and "loading up" routine, waiting patiently to be released to eat or load up in the car.

Nemo needs a home that will make sure he gets plenty of exercise and attention. Nemo could live in a multi-dog household, but he could be the only dog with the right person. In a multi-dog home, the other dogs would need to be well socialized.

We think the right person is looking for Nemo and know once they read more about him, will want to meet him. Please share this post to help him find a forever home.
