Georgia
Georgia is a two-year-old female. She was rescued from a shelter that stated: “she was afraid of her own shadow.” We initially found she was afraid of so much more. Sudden noises or movements could spook her. However, since being rescued, she has become comfortable and reacts less to common noises in her foster home.
She has done great with other well-socialized dogs but it does take her a little time to get comfortable. The dogs she is comfortable with, the dogs she has been around most, she’ll engage and play.
While she has been around children for short periods of time and didn’t react, she was visibly uncomfortable. A home without small children would be best.
Georgia is housetrained and knows how to use a doggy door. Most of the time she can be found outside playing with a toy, inside on a dog bed, or in her open crate, her safe space.
She has grown to trust her foster family and will come up to get pets, she likes pets and attention, or leashed up when she knows they are leaving. She is very comfortable in the car and will jump in the back of the car when loading up but finds comfort under a dog bed or mat once inside.
We are looking for a quiet forever home for Georgia. One with or without other well-socialized dogs. Her adopter needs to be patient with a very gentle hand. Given how she has progressed in her foster home, in the right home she will flourish.
