Daisy

Daisy

Daisy, a four-year-old beautiful German Shorthaired Pointer, and is the perfect companion for anyone who wants an active dog without the high exercise demands of a younger pup. She is friendly and outgoing and gets along well with other well-behaved dogs in social settings. However, she may not be suitable for a household with another dominant dog.

Unfortunately, Daisy was given as a gift to a young child who quickly lost interest in her. As with any living creature, an animal should never be treated like a disposable toy. While Daisy was not put away in a closet with the other toys the child grew bored with, Daisy spent a significant amount of time outside. However, recognizing her value, the adults decided to breed her, and she gave birth to at least two litters.

During her last litter, Daisy managed to escape from her yard and was found running down a busy road in LA County. Fortunately, a kind-hearted individual saved her from being hit by traffic. Upon checking the internet for any lost German Shorthaired Pointers with recent litters, the finder came across a listing for puppies located near where Daisy was found. Assuming that Daisy's owners would soon come looking for her, the finder contacted the person selling the pups, only to be met with a rude response and subsequent phone block. The finder took care of Daisy until he was able to find someone who could assist. In the end, Daisy's owners relinquished her, keeping the litter to sell.

The Basics:

Gender: Female

Age: 4 years old

Dogs: Dominant. OK with some well-mannered submissive males.

Cats: sharp

Kids: ok with 6 years and older

The good stuff: Loves people and affection. Good hiking/walking partner.

The challenges: Dominant. Might be best as an only dog.

What our volunteers are saying about Daisy:

 * Gives the best hugs, holds onto your waist and puts her head down
* She is gentle, loves to hug you delicately
* Pulls moderately on a leash in the beginning, after that she walks well
* Loves giving you hugs. By far one of the most affectionate dogs. So much love to give
* Loves to hug people and so sweet

Daisy is an adorable adult GSP who needs someone that can give her the love and training she needs. While she won't need as much exercise as a younger GSP, she will need regular exercise. Walking or hiking would be preferred as dog parks aren't an option. Click here if you like hugs and can give Daisy a home with the attention she needs.
