June

June

Introducing June, a charming 4-year-old beautiful female solid liver German Shorthaired Pointer whose remarkable journey begins in a small Southern California town. Nearly ready to whelp, June found herself scavenging for food and seeking refuge after she possibly was dumped. The close-knit community she found herself in held the promise of familiarity, where surely someone would recognize her if she had simply strayed from her yard.

Animal Control officers collected and took her to the local Animal Shelter, where she hoped her owner would come to reclaim her. Unfortunately, the passing days saw no sign of her previous owner visiting looking for a pregnant dog. Not having the resources that June would need in the coming days, the Animal Control officers reached out to California GSP Rescue for assistance.

Despite being four years old, a stage where many German Shorthaired Pointers tend to mellow, June remains a spirited and energetic soul. Embracing life with an infectious enthusiasm, she finds immense joy in frolicking and engaging in playful hunting adventures within the training field. She pauses intermittently between her exhilarating escapades, seeking affectionate pets and showering her companions with loving kisses.

Now, for those underestimating June's zest for life, a mere walk around the block would fall short of satisfying her boundless energy. A walk merely serves as a warm-up for this energetic, spirited GSP. June will require approximately an hour of daily exercise, encompassing activities such as invigorating runs, scenic hikes, or even exhilarating biking adventures.Be prepared to embark on an active and dynamic journey alongside this spirited canine companion.

June's affectionate nature knows no bounds as she effortlessly forges connections with adults and strangers alike. Thriving on the love and attention she receives, she relishes in the art of giving and receiving affection. However, it's worth noting that her exuberance may occasionally border on overwhelming, stemming from an endearing misconception about her own size. You see, June has a charming inclination to believe she's more of a lapdog than a seasoned huntin' dog. Fear not, for with a little guidance and training, this endearing quirk can be gently managed, ensuring a harmonious balance between her affectionate nature and her rightful role as a canine companion.

While June may not be the ideal match for everyone, some believe that a four to five-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer is the epitome of the perfect age, as this is when GSP’s often begin to mellow. In the near future, the required daily exercise will gradually decrease, allowing for a more balanced lifestyle. If you genuinely believe that you have the potential to be June's perfect companion and would like to embark on a remarkable journey together, we invite you to take the next step. Kindly complete an adoption application, demonstrating your commitment and genuine interest.
