Brooklyn

Brooklyn

Brooklyn is an approximately 8-year-old beautiful female German Shorthaired Pointer. She was found as a stray down the street from a shelter. She looked to have had several litters of puppies with the last litter within six months of her being rescued. We think she may have been dumped because she needed medical attention. She had a mammary tumor which we had removed and checked by our Vet, and thankfully it is benign.

Her foster family says she is very sweet and easy as they come. She loves to cuddle and be near her people. She knows how to use the dog door and is house trained. She sleeps on a dog bed and also goes into an open crate sometimes on her own. She appears to like the comfort of the crate.

Brooklyn has done well with other large dogs, but has had some issues with small dogs, and would need to be properly introduced and managed if around a small dog. Brooklyn would most likely be better in a home with another dog her size but would be just as happy as an only dog in the home.

The Basics about Brooklyn

Gender: Female

Dogs: Good with other large dogs, but no small dogs

Cats: No cats

Kids: Unknown

The Good Stuff: Very easy and sweet. Loves people and enjoys getting attention and pets. Attentive and responsive.

The Challenges: Does not do well with small dogs - Can be a bit of an escape opportunist if left alone too long

What our Volunteers say:

Very nice walker. Stops on the trail so you can pet her. Sits right beside you. Affectionate.

Went on a nice walk, no pulling, enjoys her walks

Calm and mellow, walks gently

Doesn’t want to play but really wants pets, such a cutie

Not very interested in playing with any toys, but she gave me a hug though

Very interested in what you are doing, but not too interested in other dogs.

Very good on leash
