Birdie is an approximately 3 year old beautiful female GSP mix. We are not certain what Birdie is mixed with, but she looks to maybe have some herding breed in her.

Birdie is extremely sweet. Loves everyone and everything. Loves getting attention and affection.

Good on a leash once she settles in, and will look back and check in and follow your lead.

Birdie has shown to have some resource guarding with toys and food, so a home with no children, as an only dog, or a home with a submissive dog where it could be properly managed would be best.

Birdie is young, and playful. Being a GSP Mix, she doesn’t have the crazy energy of a young purebred GSP, but still needs daily exercise and continued training to thrive.

The Basics:

Gender: Female
Age: 3 years
Dogs: Needs managing
Cats: Unknown
Kids: Best in a home with no young children due to resource guarding

What the Volunteers are saying:

* Got zoomies. Wanted to be a lap dog after her energy went down. Put her head on me and wanted to be held.

* Will sit for treats. When out on a walk, she responds to her name without having to pull her. She spends most of the time on side of trail sniffing. Very cognizant of where person is, if you stop, she stops.

* Very curious and interested in other dogs. Paid attention to movement and lifted her front leg to point a few times. Pulls a little but will stop and look back.

* Incredibly friendly and sweet. Met her for the first time today and she greeted me with a lick on the face.

* Such a sweetie, very waggy and happy to see you . Wants pets and love. So friendly and lovely.

The Good Stuff: Birdie is a sweet and loving dog, and very smart. She has had some training, and is good on a leash.

The Challenges: Has some resource guarding with toys and food that will need to be managed.

Could you be the perfect match for Birdie? If so, we encourage you to submit an adoption application today. If not, kindly help us by sharing her information and assisting us in finding her forever home. Together, we can make a difference in Birdie's life.
