Bentley
Bentley is a 7 ½ year old very handsome male German Shorthaired Pointer. Unfortunately, Bentley’s owner who had him since he was a puppy was going into assisted living, and could no longer care for Bentley. She contacted us, and asked us if we could take Bentley, and find him a loving home.
Bentley is house trained and crate trained. He is good in the house when left alone, and prefers to be inside the home with the family. He does not jump fences, but will try and dig under the fence if he gets bored.
Bentley does well on a leash, but pulls a little. He is well trained, and knows the commands come, stay, sit, down, off, and shake. He gets along with most other dogs who are well socialized. He has been in a multi dog foster home, and has done well. He is better with larger dogs, but does not do well with small dogs that are aggressive. He can be playful in the morning, but can be grumpy and not so playful in the evening when he is tired. He likes to chase cats, so a cat home would not be for Bentley.
Bentley wants to bond and please. He is good with people and young adults. We don’t recommend him going to a home with young children, as he sometimes gets protective of his space, and does better with less people and a quite environment. He is very loving, sweet tempered and social, however he does bark at delivery people, and strangers who approach the house.
We would like Bentley to go to a home where he is loved and part of a family who will give him plenty of walks and daily exercise.
If you have room in your home and your heart for Bentley, please apply here.
