Seussa Is Adopted!

Seussa has had quite a journey this year. Her doting owner passed away leaving Seussa and another GSP without a family. Luckily for her, she came to California GSP Rescue, where she would be safe until a new family could be found - a much better alternative for a 9 year old GSP than a shelter.Seussa's luck continued when we found a foster for her. Michael and Mariah enjoyed living with this mellow, smart an oh-so snuggly senior while we continued to look for a permanent home for her. And then Vicky and Herb, previous adopters, called to say they were looking for another GSP. Although Herb preferred the males, Seussa seemed to be everything they were looking for and they came out to meet her. It was as if her foster parents had told her before the appointment, "snuggle up and follow them all around" - because that's exactly what she did and Herb and Vicky had a new dog!Seussa instantly got along well with their dog Duke, even trying to sleep in the same dog bed with him! Although she was a bit restless the first few nights, her new family was patient with her and helped her get adjusted to her new home with routine and extra exercise. They got her a pretty pink girly-looking harness, some new toys and a new bed - and she eventually started using it instead of bunking with her smaller canine brother!Vicky and Herb have let us know she is a "total snug bug" and are happy that both dogs are comfortable sharing the couch and their attention. They tell us, "She is super velcro with us already and just loves being anywhere with us. She plays well with other dogs at the dog park too. She did well at her vet checkup and has been doing really good with Duke still. She enjoys hanging out with my baby niece and has met all the neighborhood dogs and gets along well with them too. We are super happy we got her!"
