Recall of dog treats

A recall of two brands of dog treats has been announced: Waggin 'Train and Canyon Creek Ranch Chicken Jerkey Treats, both manufactured by Nestle Purina Pet Care Company. They are being recalled because of trace amounts of antibiotic residue found in samples of the product. The antibiotics are approved for use in China and other countries, but are not on the U.S. list of approved antibiotics when raising food for human consumption. The company says the products are safe, but is recalling them due to regulatory issues. For information about the recall, go to Nestle Purina Office of Consumer Affairs at  800-982-0704 .
