Meet Wyatt
Wyatt is a 7 year old white with liver male German Shorthaired Pointer. He gets along well with most other dogs in the field, especially the more mellow dogs.Wyatt came to us after his owner turned him into a kill shelter. The shelter is under no obligation to hold a relinquished dog. Just as they do with strays, the relinquished dog can be euthanized as soon as the owner walks out the door. Thankfully we were notified shortly after Wyatt arrived at the shelter, and we immediately sent our volunteers to spring him and get him to safety. Take a peek here at Wyatt's journey to rescue. We are not sure why this beautiful boy wasn't wanted anymore as he appears to have had some training. Since Wyatt has been in our care, he has displayed a typical GSP prey drive when spotting a bird or critter.A German Shorthaired Pointer even at age 7 still has plenty of energy, and Wyatt is no exception. He is very active and enjoys running and playing in the field. Wyatt enjoys the attention and affection from people, and could possibly live in a home with another mild mannered dog.Wyatt is very active, and will need to be placed in a home with an active family that will give him plenty of attention, exercise and continued training. If you feel Wyatt would be a good fit for your family, and would like to learn more about him, please apply here.
