Macy still needs a home

Macy came to California GSP Rescue last year after being rescued from a high kill shelter in Southern California. Her socializing skills were lacking and we had to be careful when she was off leash with other dogs. For most of the year, she has been a regular in Saturday morning obedience training and socializing. In addition, her foster Mom has worked at socializing her with her pack. In the twelve months she has been with us, she has made marked improvements and now gets regular exercise with a group of dogs she is comfortable being around. While she has been well cared for and receives attention daily, it's not quite the same as being adopted by a family. She has often been overlooked by adopters looking for younger 'more active' GSPs. However, an adult GSP isn't like having a couch potato - Macy can hold her own on any hike she has been on. Just ask one of the volunteers that have taken Macy on one of her many walks where she is always on the hunt! However, unlike younger GSPs, Macy does mellow and isn't "hyper" if she misses a walk. She loves getting attention and would be a great companion for someone that occasionally hikes or is more active. If you are in doubt, ask to walk Macy and see what owning an adult GSPs is all about!Macy is ready and very much needs a forever home.
