We Love Brownie - So Will You!

"Brownie" could be a very common name of a brown dog OR it could describe something sweet, sought-after, and something most of us just love! Brownie, an 11 year old, spunky and adorable, GSP/lab mix is definitely named after that sweet treat we all love. He must be, because he is just that, lovable! Brownie has great energy, especially for an 11 year old. We've been pleasantly surprised at how well Brownie gets along with the other dogs in his foster home, especially since his owner told the shelter he was afraid of other dogs when she dropped him off at the shelter. And our volunteers always enjoy his attention and snuggles when we get him out to play.And speaking of his former owner - we are left wondering, "what the heck?" at her story. She gave up Brownie because she was going to have a baby and she didn't think she could care for him after that. She had him since she was 14 years old and she didn't even give him a chance! Although he is active, he wouldn't have any problem skipping a walk now and again if you are having a busy day and is oh-so-easy to have around for his foster mom.Being there for dogs like Brownie is a huge part of our purpose here at California GSP Rescue. Dogs that have given their all only to be discarded deserve a second chance and a family to spoil them! They deserve someone who won't give up so easily on them when life gets a little complicated; someone who will understand that a dog as great as Brownie is a companion to experience life with, not a chore! Brownie deserves someone who will come home and give him a pet, talk to him, and take him for a little relaxing stroll. Are you that special someone?
