Unstoppable Lexie And Friends: Update and Plea
California GSP Rescue rescued Lexie with Laika and Comet from a shelter in the Central Valley. Harry came from a local county shelter, where he was put in a kennel with six other pups to be euthanized until Fox saw him. Winnie was picked up with Remington from another local shelter. What's going on right now with the number of young German Shorthaired Pointers in animal shelters has never happened. Except for Lexie, nothing is wrong with these puppies.
When Lexie arrived, it was clear she needed medical attention. With her paw hanging limp from her leg, it’s possible her previous family abandoned her at the vet’s office due to financial constraints, leading to her eventual placement in the animal shelter. The cause of her injury remains unknown. After being rescued, California GSP Rescue ensured she received the necessary medical attention. Dr. Kang removed the paw, leaving enough of her leg for a prosthetic to be fitted when she is fully grown. Despite her missing paw, Lexie is unaware of her condition and gets into as much mischief as any other puppy with her three good paws!
Lexie plays with Harry, Winnie, and the other dogs with all the energy typical of a German Shorthaired Pointer puppy. During a recent trip to a park, Lexie, Harry, and Winnie had a blast exploring and playing, resulting in an amusing video that we know you’ll love. They all played well together with various toys. Lexie loved the snuffle ball that Volunteer Deanna made for her, and although it shows signs of puppy chewing, Lexie will carry it around, pausing to look for treats and give it a good chew.
Lexie, Harry, and Winnie are all in need of loving homes. If you are familiar with the breed's needs and can provide a home for one of these amazing pups, please submit an application from our website. If you are unable to adopt at this time, there are still ways you can help:
