Ella is Adopted

Finding the perfect match for a GSP isn't a one-size-fits-all process. Take, for example, our energetic Ella, now known as Goose. When placing German Shorthaired Pointers (GSPs) like Ella, understanding their breed-specific needs is crucial. GSPs are intelligent, high-energy dogs bred for hunting. They require ample daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation to thrive.

That's why when Kristiana and Dave applied to adopt Ella, we knew they were a perfect fit. They showed a clear understanding of the breed's characteristics and a commitment to providing the active lifestyle Ella craved. Here is their update on Ella NKA Goose

We have no idea how this sweet girl could possibly have been given up.

She is ridiculously trainable, sweet as can be, has easily adapted to our schedule and has settled in quickly. All of her pointer traits are coming out (pointing at birds).

Loves running and cuddling and always remembers who has treats with them.

Being up here in the woods has been really good in helping her come out of her shell even more because we can be outside without a lot of scary stuff to make her anxious.

Her recall is AMAZING so far!! And she really only got to the end of a 50ft line 3-4 times…she really doesn't want to explore that much without knowing where we are.

We had to bring her to a wedding this weekend and she was better behaved than the children.

We couldn't be happier for Kristiana and Dave! Their commitment to giving Goose the exercise, training, and love she deserves is heartwarming. Her story is a perfect example of why understanding a dog's breed is so important in the adoption process. If you're considering welcoming a GSP into your life, familiarize yourself with the breed thoroughly, be prepared to offer an active lifestyle, and open your heart to a loving and energetic companion.
