Jango: A Rescue Story
Jango, a one year-old German Shorthaired Pointer, sat in his kennel at the shelter, waiting for his owner. Despite his disappointment when his owner never showed up, he remained hopeful, watching every visitor to the shelter in anticipation of a loving home. It was a challenging time at the shelter, being overlooked by so many people. Was he too old? Too skinny? Not the right color? He didn't know, but his future looked extremely grim until California GSP Rescue saved him.
GSP’s are known for their boundless energy and loving natures, thriving in active households. Peggy, a Volunteer at California GSP Rescue who spent time with Jango, highlights his unique qualities: intelligence, playfulness, and sweetness. These qualities make Jango a truly unique and intriguing companion. However, his high energy levels can be overwhelming for many, requiring an owner who can provide him with plenty of exercise. Incorporating long walks, runs, or bike rides once or twice daily into your routine will ensure his and your day are mellow and relaxed.
Basic training is crucial for Jango to develop good manners and foster a closer bond with his new family. It is an essential part of a successful adoption. With positive reinforcement and patience, Jango will thrive in an active, loving, and enriching environment. This training will not only help Jango adapt to his new home but also strengthen the bond between him and his new family.
In all likelihood, Jango lacked the exercise and training in his former home. Perhaps his previous owner was someone uneducated about the breed falling in love after seeing a cute liver and white puppy. Then later falling out of love when they realized they couldn't provide Jango with what he needed.
If you are an active person or family seeking an active GSP ready to shower you with love, Jango could be your ideal match. Kindly consider opening your home to this special GSP and giving him the second chance he deserves. With the right care and attention, Jango has the potential to bring immense joy and love to your family.
