It's Me Again... Abby

Abby_dogdoorRemember me? My name is Abby. A while ago, I told you about my family, how they forgot me and left me behind in that field. Well, it has been quite awhile now, and they are still not back.I am feeling much better now, and I think I'm okay with not seeing my family again. You see, the man who took me from the field to his home, has turned out to be pretty great! He has a nice family and nice dogs at his house. I never feel lonely, and I don't have to climb stairs any more, which was really hard on my legs. He has a dog door too, so I can enjoy the sun and the yard any time I want! He also takes me for rides in the car and we've even had lunch at a cafe together! This man and his wife take me on nice little walks, and the more I walk, the better I feel! He tells me he is my foster. I'm not sure what this means, but I do know that this foster guy really "gets" me! He knows when I need to rest, and when I need a little fun. I don't always know what he is saying to me, but I really like that he talks to me a lot and pays attention to me. He also gave me just the best, best bed ever!My foster guy recently took me to a vet, too. I don't even remember the last time I saw a vet, and I was a little afraid. The doctor was a pretty nice man too, and a few days after I left his office, I started feeling really good. My ears didn't hurt any more, and neither did my teeth! Some of the big lumps I had were gone, which made it easier for me to move around. I still don't know where my family went and why they never came back, but I don't cry any more. It took me awhile to get used to this new life but, now, it sure feels good!Note from Foster Guy and California GSP Rescue:  We took Abby to our vet and she needed some pretty extensive dental work and required a deep ear cleaning under anesthesia - both from years of neglect. While under anesthesia, our vet also removed some bothersome lumps. It was worth it, though; you can tell Abby is feeling better than she has in a long time! The cost of this care for Abby is far beyond what normal adoption fees cover, however, after evaluating Abby, we wasted no time getting her the necessary care she needed for so long. Being an all volunteer organization, we rely on your support to help us continue to help dogs like Abby, and we are asking for your help to donate towards sweet Abby's medical care. Please help if you can. No amount is too small, and every amount makes a difference![give_form id="31588"]
