In Loving Memory Of Lilli
Michael and Sharon are long time supporters of California GSP Rescue, always sending a donation when we have a Vet bill to pay and always adopting. Always adopting a dog that most would give a “like” but weren’t inclined to adopt. Whether it be because the dog was older or needed to be an only dog, Michael and Sharon found room in their hearts and home. Lilli was no different. She was older when she arrived to California GSP Rescue and a few days before Michael and Sharon were to adopt her, she found herself the recipient of a “love bite” on her snout after an altercation with another dog. Michael and Sharon weren’t deterred. They adopted her with all of her years and an abscess that would need to be looked at by a Vet. Lilli was well cared and loved for the short time she was with them but brought them joy and reciprocated their love. This is their tribute to Lilli.
"We rescued our beloved Lilli 4 years and 4 months before losing her suddenly and unexpectedly after emergency surgery July 3rd. She had quickly become the center of our lives; our daily schedules revolved around her as neither of us ever wanted to leave her, even for a few hours.
Lilli gave us nothing but joy in the 4+ years we were blessed to have her to love and receive her love in return. She was funny, feisty and sweet. She never saw a lizard that she didn’t try to catch. She expected 3 walks a day which she always got, and was even happier with 4 (her favorites were on the golf course and at the park)! Everyone in the neighborhood knew her, stopped to pet her unusually soft silky coat, and have now been so kind in sharing our grief.
Lilli had a pillow in almost every room of the house so she could keep an eye on us no matter where we were; it always put a smile on our faces to see her regal roost on her patio pillow, watching the golfers tee off on #6. Michael misses being pushed to the edge of the bed every night as she curled up as close to him as possible.
We appreciate everyone at GSP Rescue for all you do for the dogs and ultimately your care in matching each one to the perfect adopter. Thank you for making sure we were the lucky ones to add Lilli to our family".
California GSP Rescue is grateful for repeat adopters like Sharon and Michael and touched they always adopted the GSP’s that were not the most sought after. While our hearts know their loss, we are filled with a warm joy for the few years they gave Lilli that were filled with love. Thank you, Michael and Sharon.
We do what we can. We put love into action for our beloved companions, and try to stay present in the love each moment brings. The rest is out of our hands.
