Meet Helen, a young and sweet German Shorthaired Pointer who found herself wandering the streets and ending up at a local animal shelter. Unfortunately, Helen's story is not unique - more and more German Shorthaired Pointers are ending up in shelters, and the need for rescue organizations like California GSP Rescue is greater than ever.

When the California GSP Rescue volunteer received a notification about Helen, they were surprised to learn that no one had yet expressed interest in adopting her. The shelter was overcrowded, and Helen's time was running out. But the moment the volunteer laid eyes on Helen, they knew they had to help her.

Helen was timid and thin, overwhelmed by the barking of the other dogs in the shelter. But as soon as the Animal Control Officer pulled her from her kennel, something changed. She was so happy to be out and was eager for attention. It broke the volunteer's heart to think that no one had been looking for her, but they knew that Helen was in good hands now.

Helen is currently being evaluated and will soon be ready for adoption. She's a sweet and active young female German Shorthaired Pointer who would make a great companion for the right family.
