Greta Is Safe!
We were notified about Greta, a GSP who had come in as a stray who was found wandering alone, emaciated and scared. When she was picked up by local animal control, they scanned for a microchip, but did not find one. Being an older dog in a remote shelter, her chance of being adopted was going to be challenging. When her owners did not claim her during her stray hold, as soon as she was made available, we wasted no time to pull her. This sweet girl had a lot of angels watching over her, and Angelica was one of them. She picked up Greta from the shelter, and began the first leg of her journey to the rescue. She then met volunteer David who took her the rest of the way. While at the shelter, she was bitten by another dog, but came through like a trooper, and was non-reactive, thankfully resulting in minimal injury. We are still learning about Greta, but what we do know is that she is extremely sweet, did well riding in a car and has a wonderful temperament. She is beginning to gain some much needed weight, and will be available for adoption very soon!We want to say a huge "Thank you" to Angelica and David for re-arranging their schedules and volunteering their valuable time to get Greta out of the shelter, to safety, and one step closer to her forever home.If you would like to help offset the costs for Greta's care while she waits for her forever home, please donate below. Thank you for your continued support, so that we can continue to save dogs like Greta.[seamless-donations]
