Ginger Is Safe!

Ginger wasn't always safe. She was picked up as a stray, and taken to a shelter. As a rescue, we typically get called about an older dog that was found as a stray or a dog with medical issues that needs our help. Very rarely are we contacted about a young dog turned into the shelter. So we were surprised when we got a call about a one year old that was found as a stray and would become available for adoption. Surely somebody would reclaim her!

 

Not wanting Ginger to stay at the shelter any longer than she had to, one of our volunteers was there on the morning she was made available, only to find out that she had just been adopted. She was happy that Ginger was adopted, but hoping she went to a home that was familiar with the breed. Fast forward 6 days later, and we were notified that Ginger was returned. We didn't waste any time, and contacted volunteer Lisa, who had been to the shelter to pick her up previously, and quickly left work to drive to LA to pick her up. 

 

Lucky for us, the lady who returned her was still at the shelter so the rescue was able to learn quite a bit about her and why she was returned.

 

She was adopted by a lovely family that had two dogs, a large dog, as well as an older, smaller dog. They were getting along great until one afternoon heading outside from a small doorway, and Ginger and the smaller dog bumped into each other. For the next several days, there was too much tension between Ginger and her smaller dog, that she felt it was best to return her. 

 

Ginger is now safe with us, and we are getting to know her. Watch our website to find out when she will be made available for adoption!
