Frolie Is Adopted!

Frolie and Lisa on her adoption day

This year has no doubt been a year like no other, and we haven't celebrated our successes as we have the challenges we have faced. The other day we received a welcomed holiday greeting from an alumnus adopted earlier this year and noticed we hadn't shared the adoption post!

Frolie came to us a little over a year ago from a Humane Society after being rescued from a high kill shelter in the Central Valley. Frolie (https://www.gsp-rescue.org/adopted-dogs/meet-frolie) was a seeing impaired GSP Mix. The Humane Society reached out to California GSP Rescue (www.GSP-Rescue.org) to help find her a forever home. Having experience with seeing impaired GSP’s, and confident we could place a GSP Mix, we were happy to assist.

Shortly after Frolie arrived, former adopter Lisa reached out to us to get more information on Frolie. Having adopted her last two seeing impaired dogs from California GSP Rescue, Lisa was familiar with dogs like Frolie. Lisa's last adopted seeing impaired dog had recently passed away. Unfortunately, the timing wasn't right for Lisa. While we were a little disappointed, we weren't too concerned as Frolie was doing fine in her foster home. We would continue looking for a home for Frolie, knowing it would be a challenge finding a seeing impaired dog a home.

Several weeks passed, and from time to time, Lisa would check in to see how Frolie was doing. A few months passed, and we found ourselves in a shelter in place during a pandemic. Many of the younger GSP’s in our care were adopted, but Frolie remained. Then one day, we received an email from Lisa. She wanted to come to meet Frolie. Lisa adopted Frolie - her third seeing impaired dog.

We cannot say enough good things about Lisa for giving Frolie and her two previous seeing impaired dogs a home. Frolie is loved, well cared for, and goes everywhere that Lisa goes, including kayaking in Morro Bay.
