Ewwww...What's that Smell!

Curious GSPs often stick their noses where other animals are hiding. Unfortunately, sometimes those animals can be skunks and our friends come back smelling...not so good!  Years ago, Dear Abby shared a great skunk remedy in her column. Some of our volunteers have used it with great success and, although we hope you will never need it, we thought we'd share it - just in case!1 quart of Hydrogen peroxide1/4 cup baking soda1 teaspoon dish soap (Dawn seems to work the best).Shampoo your dog with the mixture and let it stay on his fur for five minutes before rinsing. Repeat if necessary.Caution: Make sure to keep this out of the dog's eyes and mouth!
