Chad Ochoa Cinco Finds His Soul Mate

Chad Ocho Cinco PixieMany of our adopters have only owned German Shorthaired Pointers while others have had many different breeds. Ed and Eleen are repeat adopters with at least one cat friendly GSP in the pack. They know and understand the need for rescue as there is always a number of unwanted dogs and cats at the local shelters. They also know that it often takes work to integrate the new dog into their home and pack. The following is an update sent in with the featured photo of Chad and their non-GSP, Pixie.A picture says a thousand words -about true love and a lot of other things. So, in a nutshell, we got Pixie, a blue nose pit bull, from Paradise Ranch in Sun Valley, where we have taken Chad and our other 4 dogs for boarding and day care. When I first saw Pixie at the Ranch, they had rescued her from Pasadena Humane Society (where she was about to be put down), and were trying to find a home for her. Two previous adoptions had been unsuccessful, the first person had allergies and couldn't keep her, and the second attempt, a young couple, were having a baby and thought it would just be too much.Well, the third time was the charm, although we were a little apprehensive at first, because we have 4 small dogs, and we were also concerned about Chad and Pixie getting along. Fortunately, we were able to have Chad and Pixie spend time together at the Day Care, and they interacted nicely.A year and a half later things are still going well. At approx 2 yrs old Pixie is the "baby" of the family, very playful and rambunctious at times, but also mindful and respectful of the little dogs. As for Chad, he now has his soul mate. She is totally deferential toward him, but being thecool gsp that he is, he takes it all in stride.Thank you Ed and Eleen for adopting from California GSP Rescue and making sure there is at least one GSP in your pack!
