Ben Is Adopted!
Ben showed up at an animal shelter in Los Angeles. Since he was not microchipped, he only needed to be held for five days. Fortunately, California GSP Rescue was notified about him early on and monitored him during his holding period at the shelter.
Before being made available to rescues, the animal shelter would make Ben available for adoption to the public. California GSP Rescue was sure, even though his original owner didn't come to claim him, someone would swoop up this great-looking young German Shorthaired Pointer. While he was only three years of age, he was still very active and, without question, striking. But that is not what happened. Ben sat a few more days in the shelter without anyone adopting him!
California GSP Rescue pulled Ben from the shelter, and were committed to finding him a home. We are happy to bring you the news that Ben’s story has a happy ending, and he has been adopted!
Leah applied to adopt, and had the patience to wait for the right dog to come along. She had children and understood that, as a rescue, we wanted to ensure the dog we selected could be trusted with children and that both the children would be managed around the dog, and the dog would be managed around the children.
She waited a couple of months for us to find the right fit, and came out with all the kids and family to meet Ben. She and her husband were immediately smitten with Ben and the rest can be told by Leah's kind words:
“We welcomed Ben into our family in early February, and have enjoyed him from day one. Our family is very active, and Ben loves to go everywhere with us. Ben goes on several long mountain walks each day and enjoys running with us as well. His new favorite activity is finding lizards to give us and playing with the boys in the yard. Ben loves his snuggle and cuddle time. He is very gentle around our baby. He is in a routine and every night he goes to bed at 8pm and sleeps on the bed all night long and has to be near one of us. Ben has brought us soo much joy and love”!
