Basil is adopted!

More good news to share with you this special holiday season. A while back, Basil was relinquished by his owner to the rescue. Finding a home for an adult GSP can be a challenge. Finding a home for one that has developed a skill for escaping yards and a desire to hunt cats, can be nearly impossible. However, like all the dogs California GSP Rescue takes in, we didn't give up on finding a Basil his forever home.A little earlier this month, we managed to find an incredible forever home for Basil with Michael and Sharon. Repeat adopters, both Sharon and Michael are fond of the adult and older GSPs that are easier to care for but so often overlooked.Sharon wrote the following update shortly after adopting Basil,' Just wanted to let you know that Michael is in his recliner watching TV at this moment, and Basil is asleep on his pillow at his feet! He is definitely “curious” and has poked his nose into every corner he can both inside and outside (also spent quite a bit of time outside trying to see if there was a way outside our fence!). But he ate his dinner with no problem and also spent more than an hour with Michael in his office on that pillow...He’s getting lots of hugs and love…we’re grateful to the GSP Rescue for all the dogs we’ve adopted.' Thank you Michael and Sharon for adopting and  giving Basil a home so he could spend Christmas with a family.We appreciate you continuing to support our efforts and look forward to many more updates on Basil.
