A Letter From Our Volunteers
To our valued supporters,We Need Your Help! This Sunday, November 16th, we will be participating in the 2nd annual Race For The Rescues. We are asking for your support for the California GSP Rescue Team to help us raise funds to help with the ongoing medical expenses the rescue incurs on a daily basis. As an all volunteer non-profit organization without major funding, we sometimes struggle to make ends meet. We rely on the financial support from donations and our fundraising efforts, especially when we get a number of dogs that need medical attention as we have the past few months. One might present an argument that if your expenses go up in one area, you cut back in another area. However, we don't have a payroll or entertainment budget we can cut. The current adoption fees allow us to maintain as long as we don't encounter any major Vet bills. We are hoping to raise enough funds with the Race for the Rescues event to allow us some flexibility with regards to the budget and not having to worry so much when we have a dog that needs medical attention. Rest assured, we'll see that any GSP in our care gets the medical attention, but it would be nice to have a little money set aside. This year, we have a specific GSP that needs your help. Razz was rescued by the California GSP Rescue after being abandoned, needing medical attention. Initially, it looked as if he had testicular cancer but as it turned out, when he was neutered, it turned out to be Sqaumous Cell Carcinoma. After a few surgeries and chemo-therapy, Razz is alive, and he will be participating in the 2nd annual Race for the Rescues Orange County 5K this Sunday November 16, 2014.Please consider making a tax deductible donation towards our race. No amount is too small and will go towards helping pay Razz' Vet bills. California GSP Rescue has spent several thousand dollars on Razz' medical needs, and have yet to ask for any donations. While we have put a goal of $20,000, most of the cost of Razz' medical bills are just over $5,000. We are currently at just under $5,000, so we are a long way from our goal. We would like to raise more to help cover all of Razz' future medical expenses, also for the GSP's currently in our care at the rescue, and for those that will come through our door in the future. Your donations will help us continue to save homeless, injured and unwanted German Shorthaired Pointers.Thank you for your support. We could not continue to do what we do without you. You ALL make a difference! With our sincere gratitude,The California GSP Rescue Team of VolunteersDonate to Team California GSP Rescue Here
