OB
OB is a very handsome liver roan German Shorthaired Pointer. He's 7 years old and lived in a home with the same family from puppyhood until he was relinquished to California GSP Rescue. His family seemed to have spent time training him and he seems quite intelligent.
The Basics
Gender: Male
Age: 7
Dogs - No other dogs
Good with Cats: No cats
Kids: No kids
The Good Stuff: We think OB has tremendous potential. OB knows "go around" to go around a pole or tree. He also knows "sit", "down", "shake" and "stay". He has been taught how to go through hoola hoops, turning in a circle, and knows " this way" to change direction while on lead. OB is a young, energetic GSP that needs to go for several miles a day with running and/or biking. Just like most all GSP’s are velcro dogs, OB is no exception! OB was in a home and was house trained.
The Challenges: OB seems to be able to get over a 6’ fence, but it is usually to get to one of our volunteers. He does have some protective behaviors and will need a very confident leader to help him thrive. He would benefit from someone working with him on "tricks" to keep his mind busy and stimulated along with the daily exercise.
