Lex
Lex is a five-year-old liver roan male German Shorthaired Pointer. California GSP Rescue rescued Lex from a local shelter after being picked up as a stray.
He is a great boy, gets along with big and small dogs, and loves being near you. He has excellent manners with dogs and people and could be a candidate for someone with a cat.
We suspect Lex's previous owner left him in the backyard for an extended time without much attention. Out of boredom and preferring to be inside, he learned a new trick - to scale the fence. This new skill is manageable, however, exercise and attention are essential.
Lex is an active German Shorthaired Pointer who still needs daily walks and exercise, but at five years of age, he is at the perfect age for a GSP where he does not require long extended walks or runs. He will need someone to work with and train him.

What our volunteers are saying about Lex
He sits perfectly for treats and takes them gently from your hand
Lex gives very soft kisses
Strong and can pull on a leash
Loves to play with a hose or a bucket of water.
His tail goes in circles when you talk to him
Lex is charming and could be a candidate for someone that hasn't owned a German Shorthaired Pointer. While he isn't as easy as a Senior GSP, he isn't as challenging as a younger GSP. We think five is the perfect age for most individuals that may not have the time for a younger GSP.
Please apply here if you have the time and love for Lex.
