Jerry

Jerry

Meet Jerry, a 7-month-old solid black male German Shorthaired Pointer (GSP) pup. Abandoned in a parking lot with his brother, he was found and taken to the local animal shelter, where he was rescued with his brother, Tom, by California GSP Rescue.

Jerry, named after the cartoon character from Tom and Jerry, is full of entertaining antics that will keep you amused and, sometimes, laughing. However, while a puppy can be amusing, they can be work. Jerry will need plenty of daily exercise over the next several years. That isn't optional daily exercise, but mandatory.

Jerry enjoys playing with Tom and the other young GSP’s. He plays and gets along well with everyone. He and the other pups like playing keep-away, chase, catch me if you can, and many other puppy games.

Now, you probably think getting two pups is a genius idea for them to exercise each other; however, remember that two pups aren't double the work of one pup. It's exponential the amount of work. Adding a second pup to a home with a well-trained young, active, socialized dog, or GSP, is a much better approach.

The Basics:

Gender: Male
Age: 7 months
Dogs: Good. Plays well with both dogs and pups
Cats: Trainable
Kids: Good with nicely trained and well-behaved children; however, not recommended for toddlers

The Good Stuff: Jerry is cute and sweet. He likely had some training and structure early on.

The Challenges: He, like all pups his age, will need plenty of training and exercise.

What the Volunteers are saying:

He's so cute!

Pulls on the leash in every direction!

Likes pets and affection.

Chill after playtime. Cuddly.

Jerry isn't the kind of puppy you can just leave in your yard and expect him to exercise and train on his own. He craves human company, and his future owner must be devoted to ensuring he gets his daily dose of exercise and training.

If you can offer a loving home and are dedicated to providing Jerry with the exercise and training he requires, you could be the ideal match for him. If you haven't already, please submit an application through our website.
