Gus

Gus is a handsome 6-year-old white w/liver male German Shorthaired Pointer. He walks well on a leash, and easy to walk, and knows "sit." He does well in a car and well in a crate.

We don't know if Gus is house trained, as he came to us from a shelter where he was surrendered because his owner refused to pay the $10 for the microchip. While we suspect Gus spent most of his time outside, he's smart and would be easy to house-train.

Gus loves people and getting attention. He is the cutest when he sits and gives his "paw" for a treat. He will chase and fetch a tennis ball but doesn't always want to give it back, but this could be an easy fix since he is treat motivated, to trade a treat for the ball and then the reward to throw it again!

Gus was probably the only dog in his previous home as he appears uncomfortable when meeting new dogs. We have introduced him to well-socialized dogs, and initially, he seems a little reactive. Slow and easy introductions would be something to work on with him. Gus is not a fan of water, especially the hose.

Gus is still an active GSP and will need daily exercise and continued training. He won't be challenging to train as he is smart and wants to please.
