Cowboy

Cowboy

Cowboy is an adorable 3-month-old liver female German Shorthaired Pointer pup. This presents a unique chance to adopt such a young GSP. This exceptional pup is the offspring of June, a pregnant female GSP who was found as a stray alongside Johnny right before she was about to give birth. Due to the shelter's limited capacity to handle a litter of puppies, they contacted California GSP Rescue for support. California GSP Rescue provided care for Cowboy until she could find her forever home. And now, the time has come for her to find that perfect forever home.

While Cowboy's cuteness is undeniable, it's important to understand the exercise and training needs that come with owning a GSP puppy like her. Beyond her adorable appearance, there is a significant investment of time and effort required for her development. Over the next few months, Cowboy will require extra attention. Although she is intelligent and quick to learn, it will be essential for her to have a dedicated individual who ensures she receives the necessary training, including house training.

Just like all GSP’s, Cowboy will have a crucial daily exercise requirement, and her adopter should be prepared to dedicate approximately an hour each day to ensure she receives proper exercise. In the next several months, the focus will be on activities designed to provide both mental and physical stimulation. As she grows older, physical activities can become more exercise-oriented. Providing Cowboy with the appropriate amount of exercise will greatly contribute to her training. As she matures, training should become more manageable, as long as she continues to receive consistent exercise. This commitment will extend to at least forty-five minutes each day for the next five years.

What the Volunteers are saying:

* Smells like a puppy

* Nibbles on everything

* Very curious. Loves exploring.

Cowboy received her name from the iconic Johnny Cash song, which seemed fitting given her parents' names, Johnny and June. While it's possible that her name may change, as is common with adopted dogs, the commitment to providing her with exercise and training must remain steadfast. The time and effort invested in her will be rewarded with immeasurable happiness and fulfillment in your life.

Remember, you are the one who rescued her. If you don't live in a studio apartment, work long hours, prioritize Netflix over outdoor activities, and possess patience, you may be an ideal candidate for Cowboy. If this resonates with you, we welcome you to submit an adoption application today and take the first step towards welcoming Cowboy into your loving home.
