Boss Hog

Boss Hog is a six-year-old male German Shorthaired Pointer with a striking white and liver-patched coat. California GSP Rescue rescued him from a local shelter where he had been picked up as a stray and sadly never claimed by his previous owner.

At six years old, Boss Hog is the perfect age for a GSP. He still has plenty of energy to go on walks, hikes, and short runs but doesn't require as much exercise as younger dogs. He would love a spacious yard where he can hunt and explore to his heart's content. Boss Hog has a fantastic sense of smell and loves to follow his nose. Interestingly, he is also a rare GSP that walks well on a leash!

California GSP Rescue has been working with Boss Hog on a few basic commands. While he isn't sure of "sit," he is incredibly treat-motivated and would be easy to train with the right guidance. He needs a loving home committed to training him and providing him with plenty of exercise to keep him happy and healthy. If you're up for the challenge, Boss Hog is ready and waiting to become your loyal companion.

What our volunteers are saying about Boss Hog: 

* Likes rubbing his face against you like a cat. 

* Loves being scratched on the spine/back hips. 

* Does a happy dance while being scratched. 

* Sweet and gentle when taking treats.

We'd love to find Boss Hog a home with a nice-sized yard and a patient, loving adopter who will take the time to train him.
