Bear is an approximately 6 year old handsome male GSP mix. Bear was turned into a shelter due to a leg injury where the owners could not afford his surgery. Unfortunately, his back right leg had to be removed, but Bear has no idea he is a tripod. He acts like a normal dog with all four legs!

Bear is able to jog and run really nicely on his three legs. He is affectionate and has done well with well-mannered other dogs. He will grab your arm to go out into the field and will hold onto his leash to sort of “walk himself”. Bear can jump a 4 foot fence to get to his people, but does not jump a 6 foot or higher fence. Bear is very treat motivated and knows “sit”, and is highly trainable.

Bear even at 6 has some energy, but nowhere near the energy of a young GSP. With love, daily walks, and some training, Bear will thrive. He will show you what an incredible dog he is, even with three legs, and appreciate a chance at a life as part of a family in a loving home.
