Tuesday Is Adopted!
Tuesday came to us at 18 months old, surrendered by her previous owner. Tuesday has a medical condition, and due to travel for work, they could not give her the necessary attention she needed.
Tuesday was diagnosed with canine epilepsy and is on medication to control her seizures. She appeared to be a normal young, active German Shorthaired Pointer who would need someone who could meet her medical needs, giving her daily medication, and provide her with training and exercise.
Zachary and Savanna applied to adopt a young female. They had GSP’s before, were active, and they also had experience with dogs who had health challenges. On their application, they stated that they were familiar with dogs with medical issues, and were willing to give a dog the care they need and love them unconditionally. We had found Tuesday’s forever family, and we couldn’t be happier for her.
“Here is a 6 month update on Tuesday- We absolutely love her. She sleeps in the bed with us every night with the blanket she got from you guys, and a couple other fuzzy blankets because she loves to be comfy. On the days that we work she goes to her grandma's house where she is spoiled with 2 acres to run on and lots of treats. She loves to play fetch, tug o war, and go on walks. She's made a couple friends and loves to go swimming when it is hot outside. She does not like the rain. She is still mischievous when left unattended- we have to hide the butter because she loves to sneak a taste. She is one to wander with that incredible sense of smell, so she does have a Fi collar so we know where she is at all times. It came in handy once when she figured out how to open grandma's front door and went to the neighbors house and interrupted 3 kids eating breakfast. She loves to have people come over, she is adored by everyone. We are planning a camping trip in the spring time and that will be our first family trip together.
Challenges: She has had three seizure days, on her last bad day she had to be hospitalized for 3 days and two nights, but our amazing veterinarian saved her life without any deficits. We follow up with them every 3 months to do wellness exams on her. Her hospital stay was in October and she has been seizure free since. Other than her medical condition there are not many other challenges we experience her, the first week we brought her home we left a pork tenderloin on the counter and while being left unattended long enough to start the grill she managed to get it off the counter and on the floor- we have not done that since. Our house is Tuesday proof”.
We are so grateful to Zachary and Savanna for opening up their home and their hearts to a special needs dog, and giving her the life she deserves.
