Meet Gumpert!

Gumpert is a 3 year old adorable liver and roan German Shorthaired Pointer. Gumpert was surrendered to us by his owners who felt he wasn't coping well with the current changes taking place in their home, as he had been bounced around quite a bit before coming to them. They felt that they owed it to Gumpert to give him the opportunity to find a stable and permanent home where he would get plenty of attention and stability so that he can thrive.Gumpert is quite possibly one of the sweetest dogs we have ever met.  He loves attention, and is just a cuddle bug. He is housetrained, and will let you know when he needs to go potty by bringing you a shoe. He has been an excellent family dog. Loves people of all ages, and will come over for kisses.Gumpert does well with most other dogs. He has had some training, and knows "sit", "stay", "lay down", "go to bed", "go to house", "fetch" and "hide and seek". He loves to play, and loves water. His favorite toy is a Kong. He is your typical GSP "Velcro dog", so he stays beside you when walking off leash, but caution must be taken, as he gets easily distracted when he sees a bird or a bunny. He comes when he is called, but again we wouldn't recommend taking him off leash until he is fully trained on recall.Gumpert is young, smart, lovable and kind. He has a ton of energy, and will need plenty of exercise and continued training. The ideal home for him would be in an environment where he isn't left alone for too long. To be with someone in the family who is home or that works from home, or can take him to work with them. Who's lifestyle can include Gumpert where he can accompany them, and be with his people most of the time.If Gumpert would be a good fit for you or your family, please apply here.
