Kenny's Journey: July 6th - First Day
We brought Kenny home from the Rescue. He hid under the trees for two hours until we coaxed him out. He doesn't know how to walk on a leash and is quite afraid of us. He has been on this earth for 11 months with very minimal exposure to people; no talking, no cuddling, little petting. He's going to have plenty of that from now on.He has decided the end of our couch is "safe" - we've started to call it "base" - like when you were kids playing tag. Whenever we walk around the room, he runs to base and instantly looks calmer. His only comfort tonight is our dog Charlie - dogs are familiar to him, people are not.He follows a treat into the kennel, whines a little, but Charlie's bed is right next to the kennel, so he calms down quickly and sleeps. He must be exhausted, he's been on edge all day
