Jersey Is Safe!

Jersey

Jersey is a young female German Shorthaired Pointer that showed up in a high kill shelter. Picked up as a stray, she ended up at a remote animal shelter with a lower adoption rate. The animal shelter depends largely on rescues to help. Different rescues will regularly visit the animal shelter, pull dogs, and find them homes. Fortunately for Jersey, one of these rescues saw her in her kennel at the animal shelter.

Cassie runs Hand Me Down Dog Rescue, a Cattle Dog Rescue, and visited the shelter holding Jersey shortly after she came available. Amazingly, no one had come to claim this cute little GSP during the five days the animal shelter had held her. When Cassie saw her, she knew she had little chance of being adopted, and she could help get her to a breed-specific rescue that would find her a forever home.

Having Jersey out of the animal shelter and out of danger allowed a little more time. After contacting California GSP Rescue about Jersey, a plan to transport her was made. California GSP Rescue was confident they could find her a home. Cassie met Greg off the Pear Blossom Highway later that day. Jersey was one step closer to her forever home. Jersey was safe!

California GSP Rescue is still evaluating Jersey and making plans to have her spayed. A young GSP isn't for everyone, but California GSP Rescue is certain the perfect home will be found that can give her the attention and exercise she needs.
