In Memory of Richard Bicher
Rich Bicher, long-time friend of the Rescue and member of the GSP Club of the DeLuz Mountain Empire, passed away on June 14th after a courageous 3-1/2 year battle with esophageal cancer. Rich and his wife Deb were valued volunteers at the Rescue and proud parents of their dog Bleu and sons Perry and Evan. He was a native of Hackensack, NJ and was one of the earliest East Coast surfers. He moved to North County San Diego in 1967 and was involved in the renovation of the La Paloma Theater in Encinitas, where Rich began showing surf films, art, and avante-garde films. It was his wish that donations be made to the Southern California GSP Rescue, to help the dogs and the club he loved so much.
