In Loving Memory Of Hops

Hops

Pops was adopted from us several years ago, and returned to us 7 years later when his owners work schedule changed, and was no longer able to give Pops the attention and exercise he needed. Pops spent most of his days in a laundry room, and his owner felt that it would be best to return him to us to find him a home with someone who could give him the attention and love he deserved.

Melissa and Mark were previous adopters. Always opening up their home and hearts for a senior, and they had reached out to us again to put them on the list for another senior dog to adopt.

Pops had just come back to us, and he had one challenge. He did not do well with other dogs. As luck would have it, Melissa and Mark did not have any other dogs, and said that they would love to help out Pops. They said Pops seems like a very sweet boy, and said he would benefit from attention, and that they would have a great place for him in their home and hearts. Pops became Hops and was a cherished member of their family for the past 3 years.

We recently received the sad news from Melissa and Mark that Hops has passed away. We couldn’t be more grateful to Melissa and Mark for reaching out to us to adopt another senior dog. They gave Hops the absolute best life every dog dreams of.

Our big boy Hops, the sweetest and gentlest giant, the best companion, our dog mate. His amazing resilience surprised us, he had so much to share even as he approached 15, his toughness inspiring, his love unconditional, his playful disposition never ending, we were never ready to say goodbye.  We will miss your bounding gallop, your “hungry like Hops” appetite, your insatiable need for face pets, your jingle of the car keys reaction, your head on the bed wake up call, every day different and fun. I could go on and forever. He was such a love and we loved him.

His absence is difficult, focusing now on his big spirit, we celebrate his life in pictures and remember all the joy he shared and our adventures together.

Thank you Hops for your place, impact, value in our lives and all your dog wisdom.

Our angel forever and always”

Melissa and Mark
