Honey Is Adopted!

Nova and her family lost their prior dog and were up to the challenge and fun of a young puppy.  They’ve expressed so much joy in bringing Honey into their home, and she is having a wonderful time with her new family.

“I am sending this email in regards to Honey’s progress, and to also thank you for taking in these fur babies for an opportunity to find their forever loving home!

It has now been 1 month since we adopted Honey and she has brought us complete joy and fulfillment!

After the passing of our family Fur baby, we had this huge hole in our hearts and never thought it could be replaced. Of course a hole that large can never, but Honey has been able to fill around the hole with complete love! She brings us so much laughter, joy, love, has taught us more patience than ever before.

By the 3rd day of bringing Honey home, she learned how to use the doggy door and go in and out on her own! She is so very smart and learns so quickly. Every time she learns new things, we reward her with a treat! She now knows how to sit in order for her to get her treat!

A week into having her she was potty trained and going in and out doggy door on her own without us telling her to go potty.

She goes through toys like crazy! She a puppy chewer for sure! We have learned to keep hard toys around her, as soft stuffed toys are torn up in minutes! Honey, also knows when she has done something wrong! As she loves to steal my couch pillows! But she knows she shouldn't take them because when she gets caught she runs and mommy isn't happy!

Honey is on a schedule for her eating and knows when it’s time to eat!

The first 2 weeks was tough getting her on a leash and taking her for walks. But we kept at it, little by little. She now enjoys walking to the park and running around like crazing! She enjoys finding and chasing the birds!

She also looks forward to her car rides now! It's crazy how she is so much like a baby! Talk about a daddy's and brother's girl though!

My husband and son have taken her 3x bird/quail hunting. First time, she did okay, she was more interested in a card board box and flowers lol. However, my husband brought home some bird wings and started hiding them around the backyard for scent to get her used to/peculiar of the bird smell for hunting. She does so well in finding the wings and gets a treat when she brings it to us! This weekend she will go hunting again to put her skills to use! She looks so cute with her collar that has a GPS system connected to it, to ensure we don't lose our fur baby!

Honey doesn't like being left alone at all! I think it's separation anxiety issues but we gate off a portion of the house to give her access to her water and doggy door so she can go in and out as she pleases while we are gone momentarily. When we get home we reward her with a treat for not destroying anything and tell her what a good girl she was while we were gone.

I know we're not suppose to, however we let Honey sleep with us and my son. She goes back and forth from the beds. She sleeps hilarious! Sometimes on her back with her legs wide open and other times right in the middle of me and my husband like a baby with covers over her body and her head showing! She loves to cuddle up with us, mostly my husband though cause she a daddy's girl!

We are all a work in progress, and everyday we introduce her to new things, new animals and new people. She seems to do well with males, however she still a little iffy with other women for some odd reason. We have 2 neighborhood cats that come to visit the back yard every few days, as she is surely curious but does well with them.

Honey is definitely a protector and alerts us of anything and everything! We are so blessed and grateful for our new fur baby! We give her so much love and attention as she does us! She knows she is loved and so do we!

Thank you again so much for accepting our application for adoption, and for sending Honey our way!!! Forever grateful”!!!
