Golden Paw - Basil

Basil is one of our treasured seniors still waiting for his forever home.  Basil came to the rescue when his owners got a divorce.  Neither one wanted him, so they dropped him off at the shelter.Basil is a kind, loving, easy going senior dog who makes no demands, but just wants to be your buddy, go for walks and chase butterflies.  He loves being with people, and gets along great with other dogs, but does not do well with cats.Basil still has plenty of energy and loves to play fetch.  Often you will see him running beside one of the volunteers bicycles on the end of a tow leash and he does great!Basil would do best placed in a home with a secure yard, without cats, where he will get daily exercise and live out his remaining years in a home full of love with someone that understands and appreciates the wonderful temperament of a senior GSP.If you are someone that can look beyond the gray and recognize the incredible soul behind those brown eyes, and make the commitment to be Basil's lifelong companion, or if you are interested in fostering him, please complete an application.Basil is part of our Golden Paw Program.  Learn more about Basil.
