Bubba Is Safe!

For the past several months, California GSP Rescue has often mentioned the overcrowding issue at the animal shelters. Each day emails are received from the animal shelters pleading for help. Some of the animals in their care have been held over the required time, and with little hope of being adopted or rescued, their future is grim.
Late one night, California GSP Rescue received an email about a specific dog from a Rescue Coordinator. The hour the email was received says a lot, as most emails received from animal shelters are sent during business hours. Still, desperate measures are needed when the shelter's kennels are filling up faster than the animals can be adopted. In the email, the Rescue Coordinator asks if California GSP Rescue is interested in meeting a young, under-a-year GSP Mix tomorrow.
The image of the GSP Mix could have been better, but turning down an invitation to assist would be difficult. In addition, another older German Shorthaired Pointer had shown up as a stray a few days earlier. The Volunteer visiting the GSP Mix would have an opportunity to inquire and rescue the older GSP.
The next day, the Volunteer arrived at the animal shelter, and the GSP Mix that would later be named Bubba was brought out from his kennel. The cute young GSP Mix was shy, but he warmed up quickly. Several people walking by commented on how cute he was. Rescuing Bubba was an easy decision. When the Volunteer inquired about the older GSP, the Animal Control Officer replied that his owner had come and claimed him. That was great news. Both dogs were safe!
