April is Safe!
Last week we received word from Shannon, a rescue coordinator for a small remote shelter, that they had an adult female GSP that needed to be rescued. April had been found as a stray several days earlier and her review date was quickly approaching. With no one coming to claim her, California GSP Rescue went into action making transportation arrangements. In less than 24 hours plans were made to pull and transport April to safety. On Saturday, Volunteer David spent most of his day on the road traveling to and from the shelter to see that April was safe. David commented that April is incredibly sweet and from her physical appearance had had many litters of pups. A big thanks to David for making the trip to get April one step closer to her forever home. We'd also like to mention that the work doesn't end with pulling a dog from the shelter. As an all volunteer organization, we not only depend on dedicated individuals like David but several other volunteers that help care, exercise, & train dogs; those individuals that help with the website making sure all the dogs get posted; individuals that work with the applications and setting appointments; and our financial volunteers that help with bookkeeping and accounting. A big thanks to everyone that helps California GSP Rescue and our efforts to rescue and place GSPs in forever homes.
