Zac

Zac bio.jpg

Zac is a nine-year-old male German Shorthaired Pointer. We rescued Zac from a local shelter after he had been surrendered. We have since learned more about Zac and what kind of forever home he needs.

We’ve had Zac out with other well-socialized dogs, and he has done well. However, he would prefer to be out playing with his person and hasn’t engaged other dogs. Some of the younger, more playful dogs he finds annoying and will let them know. If Zac were to go in a multi-dog home, it would need to be with mellower, less engaging dogs. We think he would be pretty happy as an only dog.

Zac is active! He’s no couch potato, and his forever home needs to be able to give him the exercise and attention he needs. We find when he gets bored, he gets into trouble! Yes, nine-year-old GSPs can still get into trouble. We found Zac can escape a six-foot fence. Is this manageable? Yes, but an adequate barrier is a must in addition to seeing he gets the exercise and mental stimulation he needs. Leaving him in a backyard for extended periods won’t work, and we suspect it may have had something to do with him ending up at the shelter.

With all that said, Zac is a very sweet boy. He loves getting pets and, like a typical GSP, being close to you. Someone committed to managing Zac is going to find he is a treasure and worth the effort.

If you are interested in meeting Zac, please apply on the website. We plan on sharing more photos and videos of Zac. Please share this post and the other pictures and videos to help us find him his forever home.
