Ryder

Ryder

Ryder is a handsome four-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer who was surrendered to us by his owner. He was uncomfortable around their young children. Even though there weren’t any incidents, they did not feel they could provide the supervision needed, and he would do better in a home without children.

Ryder is a young and energetic GSP that needs a home, without children, that can give him the exercise and training he needs. He could be a candidate for a multi-dog home where the other dogs are well socialized and have similar energy. However, he would be content as an only dog too. Training is a must to continue building his trust, confidence, and responsiveness.

The Basics

Gender: Male

Age: 4

Dogs: Good with other well-mannered dogs. May enjoy being the only dog in a home.

Cats: Unknown

Kids: No Kids

The good stuff: Knows sit, lay down and give paw.

The challenges: Appears dog selective and needs proper introductions.

What our volunteers are saying about Ryder

Does great in the field.

He appeared to know "stay" but will need some reminders.

He knows how to sit, lay down, and give you his paw.

Pulls on a leash but is manageable.
