Frankie

Frankie

Frankie is a two-year-old liver and white ticked male German Shorthaired Pointer. Frankie was found as a stray and then taken to a local shelter, where he spent nearly two weeks before he was adopted by a private party. The private party then returned Frankie two weeks later, stating he had a seizure. No other details were given. He remained in the shelter for another five days until he was rescued by California GSP Rescue. He was at the rescue for over two weeks until he had a series of cluster seizures. Fortunately, California GSP Rescue got him the medical attention needed to stabilize him.

Since being stabilized and kept on his prescribed medication of phenobarbital, he has not had any more cluster seizures. While he will need to be given the phenobarbital for the rest of his life, three different Vets that have examined him state he should live a whole and normal life. The phenobarbital costs less than a dollar a day and can be gotten at Costco and online.

Frankie is young and is still very much a puppy. He has a lot of energy and will need regular exercise, and he enjoys playing with his humans and other dogs. Frankie gets along well with the other foster dogs as well as any dog he has met. He knows "sit," "shake," and "kennel up." Frankie is a very fast learner. He is vocal and will "talk" to you when it is time to be fed or several other things.

We are looking for a forever home for Frankie to give him the love and attention he needs. We guarantee that Frankie will be worth the effort as he is truly a remarkable GSP.
